ANSONIA — The PROUD Academy, in partnership with The Mind Trust, is offering a free three-day summer program at the Ansonia Nature Center this summer for students entering grades 5 through 7.

“Mayor Frank Tyszka is excited to announce a FREE Summer Program for kids at the Ansonia Nature Ansonia Nature and Recreation Center, thanks to a new partnership with PROUD Academy CT and The Mind Trust.
This program gives Ansonia children a fun, safe, and educational summer filled with nature, creativity, and hands‑on learning — all at NO cost to families. The hands-on program is for students entering Grades 5–7, and gives students the chance to learn through outdoor exploration, science, creativity, teamwork, and community projects.
Students will take part in activities such as:
- Exploring ponds and local ecosystems
- Solving environmental challenges
- Creating art and storytelling projects
- Designing and building solutions
- Working together on community projects

Location: Ansonia Nature Center
Schedule: Tuesdays–Thursdays, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
Program Dates: Weeks of July 6, July 13, July 20, July 27, & August 3
Special Event: Community Showcase during the week of August 3
Lunch: Students should bring their own lunch
Enrollment: Limited to about 15 students”
