SHELTON — A firefighter and a resident were hurt Sunday during a house fire on Birchbank Road, according to Shelton Fire Marshal James Tortora.
The fire marshal is investigating the cause and origin of the blaze.
Three fire companies were sent to 76 Indian Well Road at 2:12 p.m. Sunday, July 14, according to an email from Tortora.
“Upon arrival firefighters found a two-story home engulfed in fire,” Tortora said.
A person at the home was burned in the fire and was taken to a hospital, according to The CT Post. Another person made it out of the fire unscathed.
“One firefighter was also injured while fighting the fire in the extreme hot weather and was also transported to the hospital,” Tortora said.
It took about 45 minutes to get the fire under control. The house is a total loss.
The fire marshal’s email put the address as 76 Birchbank Road.
