SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from May 12, 2025 through May 18, 2025.
It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.

Seymour police received 316 calls for service and made six arrests between May 12, 2025 and May 18, 2025.
MAY 12, 2025
8:33 a.m. Police responded to a disabled vehicle causing traffic congestion on Wakeley Street.
1:07 p.m. An anonymous caller told police a woman wearing “hippie” clothing appeared disoriented and was walking in the road on Ross Drive toward Seymour High School. A priest at a nearby church said he allowed her to charge her phone and use the fax machine.
4:43 p.m. Police received a complaint about three juveniles trying to knock over a port-a-potty outside the Seymour Community Center on Pine Street. Police spoke with the juveniles who said they were messing with their friend who was using the port-a-potty.
MAY 13, 2025
4:58 a.m. Police were monitoring one-way traffic in the construction zone at Bungay Road and Carriage Drive.
1:32 p.m. A caller reported a woman who was slumped over her steering wheel inside a blue van outside Rocky’s Deli on Maple Street. The woman told police she was doing scratch-off Lotto tickets. Police said the woman showed no signs of impairment.
3:14 p.m. Police received a report of a bear roaming in the area of Seymour High School on Botsford Road. Police said the bear was gone upon their arrival.
3:18 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at Bank and Martha streets. No injuries were reported.
5:28 p.m. A Chamberlain Road resident told police her neighbor threatened her over a leaf-blowing incident.
MAY 14, 2025
2:50 a.m. Police charged a 47-year-old Seymour woman with third-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
3:07 a.m. Police received a complaint about a female walking in the road near Bungay Road and Carriage Drive. Police said the woman was gone upon arrival.
2:06 p.m. Police were notified that the traffic lights at Bank and Wakeley Streets and the entrance to Route 8 south were not working. Police placed three stop signs and five traffic cones at the intersections until the lights could be fixed.
5:34 p.m. Police charged a 34-year-old Seymour woman with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.
7:02 p.m. A Church Street resident told police his daughter has been receiving harassing phone calls from her ex-boyfriend.
MAY 15, 2025
8:01 a.m. A Field Street resident told police a suspicious vehicle was parked near the stop sign on Field Street near Forest Road. Police said the car was gone upon their arrival.
1:10 p.m. A police officer working a road construction job on Bungay Road reported a driver was going the wrong way and would not stop for him.
2:05 p.m. The school resource officer at Seymour High School notified police that a student mentioned having a weapon at school. The school principal advised police of an incident between two students and one of them mentioned having a weapon. Police said the student was immediately pulled from school and searched and no weapons or contraband was found. The students’ parents were contacted and police confirmed there were no weapons found in the house. Police said the student was suspended.
3:18 p.m. Police received a report about a Golden Retriever roaming in the area of Old Ansonia Road and Castle Lane. Police said the dog was located and brought to the police department.
5:51 p.m. A Peach Drive resident told police someone was “casing” his house. Police said the incident was unfounded.
7:47 p.m. A Pearl Street resident told police he was concerned about a baggie filled with white powder. Police said the baggie contained a wet wipe and other garbage and there was no further issue.
10:23 p.m. Police charged a 40-year-old Seymour woman with first-degree criminal trespass, fifth-degree larceny and disorderly conduct.
MAY 16, 2025
1:46 a.m. Police received an automated call from OnStar about a motor vehicle accident near Bungay Road and Deer Run Road. One person was sent to the hospital.
2:29 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on South Main Street.
3:44 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a two-car motor vehicle accident on West Street.
6:12 p.m. A Briarwood Drive resident told police two men were going door to door with no identification. Police advised the men they needed to have a permit to solicit.
MAY 17, 2025
1:17 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a minor motor vehicle accident at New Haven/Silvermine roads. No injuries were reported.
7:03 p.m. A caller told police several juveniles were smoking cigarettes and yelling at people at Gary Park. Police were unable to locate the youths.
9:37 p.m. A Walnut Street resident complained about dogs barking for several hours at a nearby home.
MAY 18, 2025
1:19 a.m. Police received a complaint about two people walking in the middle of the road and yelling near New Haven Road and North Street. Police said the individuals were gone upon their arrival.
4 p.m. Police charged an 18-year-old Bridgeport man with second-degree breach of peace.
10:36 p.m. A William Lane resident told police a car was idling in the cul-de-sac for a period of time with the headlights shining into his home. Police reported the driver was dropping off a friend and the two were sitting in the car talking.
10:45 p.m. A Botsford Road resident told police her neighbor’s car alarm was going off and said her daughter believes she saw someone running from the property. Police reported nothing seemed to be out of place and told the resident to call back if there were further issues.
