SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from Oct. 20, 2025 through Oct. 26, 2025.

Seymour police received 233 calls for service and made five arrests.

OCT. 20, 2025

1:40 a.m. Police charged a 26-year-old Seymour man with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and failure to drive in the proper lane.

8:12 a.m. A caller reported a red pick-up truck was over an embankment near Fountain Lake and Southwest Road. Police said the truck was gone upon their arrival.

8:58 a.m. A Humphrey Street resident told police his landlord came to fight with him. An officer said the argument was over landlord/tenant issues and advised both parties to resolve the matter.

12:36 p.m. Police were contacted by animal control to check on a report of a dog not being properly cared for at Balance Rock apartments. The dog was voluntarily surrendered to animal control and taken to a veterinarian facility in Bethany. Police said animal control will follow up on whether criminal charges will be pursued.

2:28 p.m. An employee from Allen’s Plumbing Supply called police about an irate customer who was upset about not being able to return a toilet.

OCT. 21, 2025

1:03 a.m. Police were called to a medical emergency at a home on West Street for a report of an individual having chest pains.

2:50 a.m. Police charged a 25-year-old Lyme man with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and failure to drive in the proper lane.

3:34 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a minor motor vehicle accident at the intersection of New Haven Road (Route 67) and North Street.

5:45 p.m. A 911 hang-up call was received from Seymour High School. Police called back and a student said he accidentally dialed 911.

6:47 p.m. A caller told police someone in a Jeep was driving erratically on Great Hill Road. Police said the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.

10:30 p.m. A Birchwood Road resident told police he thought he heard gunshots in the area. An officer checked the area and said the call was unfounded.

OCT. 22, 2025  

3:20 a.m. Polic charged a 52-year-old Seymour man with second-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

7:19 a.m. A Pearl Street resident told police a man in his 20s with a beard was walking up and down the street, near the Seymour Methodist Church, and continued to stop and stare at his residence. The resident was unsure if the man needed help or had other motives. An officer said the man was gone upon their arrival.

4:09 p.m. Police charged a 26-year-old Naugatuck man with second-degree violation of conditions of release.

7:09 p.m. Police were called to a business on West Street for an alarm sounding. An officer said the building was secure.

OCT. 23, 2025

9:49 a.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver on Franklin Street.

12:55 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at Bank and West streets.

5:40 p.m. A Holbrook Road resident reported that two vehicles were racing up and down the street. An officer said the cars were gone upon their arrival.

10:15 p.m. Police charged a 25-year-old Danbury man with interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, second-degree falsely reporting an incident and misuse of the emergency 911 system.

11:38 p.m. Police conducted traffic light enforcement at the intersection of Pearl and Maple streets. No violations were reported.

OCT. 24, 2025

1:11 p.m. Police were called to a medical emergency at North and Gilyard streets for a report of an intoxicated man lying on the ground. An officer said the man was alert and talking and was transported to Griffin Hospital.

2:30 p.m. Police assisted a driver whose truck was disabled at Great Hil and Fountain Lake roads.

4:15 p.m. Police set up radar enforcement on Maple Street and Warren Drive.

6:12 p.m. A caller told police a driver in a white truck was driving erratically in the area of Tomlinson Road. Police said the truck was gone upon their arrival.

7:02 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a two-car motor vehicle accident on New Haven Road (Route 67) with injuries reported.

OCT. 25, 2025

10:55 a.m. A caller told police a driver in a white Acura was driving erratically on Roosevelt Drive. Police said the car was gone upon their arrival.

11:52 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Maple Street.

3:43 p.m. A report was received about a youth riding a moped on the train tracks downtown. An officer was unable to locate the youth.

5:25 p.m. A Maple Street resident told police she left her car unlocked and her wallet was stolen.

11:42 p.m. Police conducted a routine safety check of Seymour High School on Botsford Road.

OCT. 26, 2025

1:35 a.m. A Seymour Ambulance Association member told police a car driving behind them on South Main Street had no headlights on. Police said the car was gone upon their arrival.

5:31 a.m. A Johnson Avenue resident told police his mother’s boyfriend was at their house and was “drunk and acting crazy.” An officer said the situation calmed down and there were no further issues.

6:26 a.m. Police issued a verbal warning to a driver on New Haven Road (Route 67).

6:33 a.m. Police responded to a report of suspicious activity near the Seybridge Chiropractic Center on New Haven Road (Route 67).

3:02 p.m. A caller told police kids were “ding dong ditching” at homes in the area of George and Martha streets.
