ANSONIA — Police said they arrested a 21-year-old Meriden man in connection to a “street takeover” on Wakelee Avenue in April.
Joseph Yeager is charged with first-degree riot, first-degree conspiracy to riot, second-degree breach of peace, and racing. He was charged Oct. 29 using an arrest warrant. He’s being held on a $100,000 bond pending a Nov. 25 court date.

Police were called to Wakelee Avenue shortly after 12 a.m. April 26 after receiving a report of fireworks being tossed around. The first officer on scene was greeted by a mob who had descended upon the road in personal vehicles. One person jumped on the officer’s hood — and that is thought to be Yeager, according to a statement from Lt. Patrick Lynch.
Yeager is the fifth person to be arrested in connection to the incident.
“Detectives continue to investigate to identify others involved in the incident,” Lynch said.
