SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from Dec. 29, 2025 through Jan. 4, 2026.

It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.

Note: generally, this publication does not post the names of people charged with misdemeanors; the names of victims; or numbered residential addresses. If we publish a suspect’s name, we track the case.

Seymour police received 242 calls for service and made eight arrests between Dec. 29, 2025 and Jan. 4, 2026.

DEC. 29, 2025

2:09 a.m. A West Street resident told police a car alarm was going off in the neighborhood for about 15 minutes. An officer contacted the owner, and the alarm was turned off.

9:53 a.m. A caller told police her son was gifted with a pair of handcuffs for Christmas and after he tried them on was unable to locate the key. An officer was requested to assist.   

2:35 a.m. Police issued a parking ticket to a resident on Nichols Street.

7:19 p.m. Police charged a 52-year-old Seymour woman with second-degree breach of peace.

7:19 p.m. Police charged a 52-year-old Seymour man with violation of a protective order.

7:41 p.m. Police charged Eric Piampiano, 52, of Seymour, with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

DEC. 30, 2025

6:42 a.m. A caller reported a large log was blocking the roadway on Holbrook Road.

12:54 p.m. A caller told police a gray SUV was driving erratically on Main Street. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

3:21 p.m. An employee of Crown Liquor store on New Haven Road told police he received a fake $100 bill.

4:14 p.m. An employee of Henny Penny gas station on New Haven Road told police he received a fake $100 bill.

9:04 p.m. Police charged a 36-year-old Shelton man with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.

DEC. 31, 2025  

10:33 a.m. A caller told police someone stole her cell phone out of her purse while shopping at Stop & Stop on Franklin Street.

4:30 p.m. Police charged a 56-year-old Waterbury man with possession of a controlled substance and illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle.

4:30 p.m. Police charged a 48-year-old Waterbury man with possession of a controlled substance.

JAN. 1, 2026

2:10 a.m. Police were sent to Boland’s Café on North Street for a medical emergency.

3:25 a.m. A caller told police she thought she took a drink of water from a water bottle but learned it was actually Clorox. Police learned a family member was using the water bottle to store Clorox and it was on the kitchen counter among other water bottles. Police confirmed the incident was accidental and the resident was taken to the hospital.  

4:03 p.m. A French Street resident told police there was a lost dog on her porch, but the dog kept running away.

11:21 p.m. Police received two complaints from Third Avenue residents about a neighbor who they said continually sits in his truck with the engine on. An officer spoke with the man and advised him not to sit in the truck with it idling.

JAN. 2, 2026

1:23 a.m. Police issued a parking ticket to a Stoddard Street resident for violating the winter parking ban.

12:35 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Woodside Avenue.

2:21 p.m. A caller told police there was a disabled vehicle at the entrance of Seymour High School on Botsford Road.

4:47 p.m. Police were called to Newport Healthcare on Roosevelt Drive for a medical emergency.

8:12 p.m. A caller told police there was a pick-up truck near Heritage Drive that had its hazard lights on, and smoke was coming from the truck.

JAN. 3, 2026

8:59 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Canfield Road.

12:43 p.m. A resident told police someone falsely opened accounts in their name.

5 p.m. Police charged a 48-year-old Seymour man with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.

8:08 p.m. Police issued a misdemeanor to a driver on Bank Street.

JAN. 4. 2026

12:11 a.m. Police conducted traffic enforcement at Capricorn Drive and Skokorat Street. No violations were observed.

2:19 a.m. A Pearl Street resident told police a vehicle was idling in the parking lot of the trucking school and didn’t believe the vehicle belonged there. Police said the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.

7:14 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of  Bank Street and Old Drive.

1:32 p.m. A caller told police his cash was stolen from the locker room while working out at the gym in Klarides Village.

4:48 p.m. Police charged a 41-year-old Seymour woman with disorderly conduct, failure to appear and third-degree assault.
