SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from May 26, 2026 through May 31, 2026.
Seymour police received 207 calls for service and made one arrest.
MAY 26, 2026
11:59 a.m. Police were called about a tractor trailer truck that became wedged under the trestle at the intersection of Bank and Main streets. No injuries were reported and there was minor damage to the trestle, police said.
12:42 p.m. A Walgreens employee told police a man left the store on Bank Street with a cart full of detergent without paying.
2:26 p.m. Police conducted speed enforcement at Beecher and West streets.
7:29 p.m. Police received multiple calls about water pouring out of the road near Bank Street and Old Drive. Aquarion Water Co. was notified.
MAY 27, 2026
11:04 a.m. A Maple Street resident told police his car was damaged by debris from a construction crew working in the area.
12:32 p.m. A First Street resident called police about a bird that was stuck in a window.
2:07 p.m. A Manners Avenue resident told police a female wearing a backpack and sweatshirt tied around her waist walking around the area appeared “high” and seemed disoriented. An officer checked on the woman and said there were no issues.
2:40 p.m. A Balance Rock Road resident told police his truck was stolen.
8:39 p.m. A caller told police she was at French Memorial Park on Spruce Street and said the door to the concrete building that houses lawn equipment was wide open. An officer secured the door and there were no issues.

10:20 a.m. An employee from Basement Systems in the Silvermine Industrial Park told police someone who had been terminated from a job was trespassing on the property.
4:08 p.m. A caller told police there was a log blocking part of Bungay Road.
5:35 p.m. A caller told police someone driving a gray Mustang was following him on Squantuck Road and he was concerned about his safety.
5:58 p.m. Police received a report of someone in a black Subaru driving erratically on New Haven Road (Route 67). Police said the car was gone upon their arrival.
7:42 p.m. A caller told police she heard a kitten crying in a storm drain near Bayberry Lane and Greenwood Circle. The animal control officer was notified.
MAY 29, 2026
10:21 a.m. Police were called to a residence on Chamberlain Road for a verbal dispute.
11:35 a.m. A caller told police there was an injured deer in the road on Apple Lane. Police said the fawn was disoriented and relocated to a wooded area.
8:48 p.m. Police were called about someone in a black Ford Taurus driving erratically on New Haven Road (Route 67) toward Woodbridge. Police said the car was gone upon their arrival.
11:25 p.m. Police charged Robert Woods, 46, of Waterbury, with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, operating a motor vehicle under suspension, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, evading responsibility and failure to drive in the proper lane. Woods was arrested on Derby Avenue.

3:51 a.m. A Pearl Street resident told police there was a large party happening in the area with loud music and a large fire. Police said there were no issues.
4:44 a.m. A caller told police there was a large tree lying across Roosevelt Drive near Jefferson Street blocking the road.
9:12 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on West Street.
11:13 a.m. A caller told police a tree was blocking half the driveway entrance to the Seymour Public Library on Church Street. Police notified the public works department.
1:04 p.m. A caller told police she was involved in a road rage incident near TD Bank on Bank Street.
2:42 p.m. A Bellevue Terrace resident told police a wire fell from a pole and was laying across his driveway. Police said Frontier was notified.
MAY 31, 2026
1:42 a.m. A caller told police they saw someone taking scrap metal from a business on Day Street.
7:41 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Bungay Road near Bungay School for about 25 minutes. No motor vehicle violations were observed.
10:52 a.m. A Spruce Street resident told police she found a terrier mix dog near French Memorial Park. The animal control officer was notified.
12:42 p.m. A caller told police two quads were riding on the Metro North railroad tracks downtown. An officer said the quads fled upon their arrival.
8:21 p.m. Police were called to a residence on Pearl Street for a report of a verbal dispute.
