ANSONIA — A new summer basketball camp is launching at Ansonia Middle School this summer.

The camp, founded by Trayon Rumley, Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at the University of New Haven and Founder of Greater Valley Basketball, will run from July 13 through August 3 and is open to boys and girls entering third grade through high school. Athletes of all skill levels are encouraged to participate.

The camp is free for Ansonia residents with proof of residency. For out-of-town students, click here for pricing details.

Greater Valley Basketball was created with a mission to develop well-rounded young athletes by combining basketball instruction with leadership, teamwork, discipline, confidence, and character development in a positive and encouraging environment.

“We want every athlete who walks through our doors to leave with more than just improved basketball skills,” Rumley said. “Our goal is to help young people build confidence, become better teammates, develop leadership qualities, and create memories that will stay with them long after camp ends.”

Each day of camp will feature skill development, shooting instruction, ball handling, defensive fundamentals, basketball IQ, competitions, live games, and mentorship from experienced coaches.

Greater Valley Basketball is also seeking partnerships with local businesses and organizations interested in supporting youth development through sponsorships, camper scholarships, meals, equipment donations, or other community partnerships.

Registration remains open as space allows.
