Animal Control Seeks Help After Cat Abandoned In Seymour

SEYMOUR – Animal control officers are seeking the public’s help to identify the person who abandoned a caged cat without food or water.

According to a Facebook post from Woodbridge Regional Animal Control, workers at a South Main Street business found a crate in their parking lot at around 8 a.m. July 8. A male, gray-and-black tabby cat was inside.

The cat “was found frightened but very friendly after being left overnight in a parking lot inside a crate with no food and no water,” the post says.

Animal control officers took the cat in. The cat is safe and remains in their care.

Anyone with information on who abandoned the cat is encouraged to contact animal control at 203-389-5991.

“Abandoning an animal is cruel and unacceptable. We are committed to identifying the person responsible and ensuring they are held accountable,” the post says.
