Kerry Eugene Wild, age 67, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, following a courageous battle with stage 4 kidney cancer.  He died in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loved ones, he will be deeply missed. 

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on October 9, 1958, he was the son of the late Kenny Wild and Charlotte (Corris) Nizgorski, of Naugatuck. Kerry was raised in Seymour, graduated from Seymour High School and was stationed in Cuba while serving in the in the U.S. Navy.  

He was employed as a breaker mechanic for the National Breaker Service of Middlebury, Connecticut, where he worked until the time of his illness.  Kerry loved golfing and fishing, and he was a loyal fan of the New York Yankees and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kerry met his soulmate, Barbara (Swan) Wild, more than 32 years ago, and she eventually became his wife and together they built a life filled with love and family.

In addition to his beloved spouse, he is survived by his children, Kerry Shamaly and Heather Wild; four stepchildren, Robert Rinkavage and his wife, Danielle, Timothy Dumschott and his wife, Devin, Annalee Dumschott, and Nick Dumschott.; brothers, Kenny Wild and Mike Wild and his wife, Kathy; Cherished grandson, Theo Dumschott; his fur babies, Birdie (aka Bub-Bub), Miss Kitty and Baby; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Kerry was predeceased by his sister, Sandra Audet; brother, Steven Nizgorski; nephew, Ronald Mazzola Jr.; stepfather, Henry (Hank) Nizgorski; and fur babies, Tony and Carmella.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to family friends, Lois Barcomb and Suzann Conklin, and the staff of VITAS Hospice, who all went above and beyond to provide Kerry with essential comfort and care in his time of need. At Kerry’s request, all funeral services are private.
