SANDY HOOK and CUDJOE KEY, FL – Steven J. Jaroszewski, age 69 of Sandy Hook (CT) and Cudjoe Key (FL), beloved husband of Cynthia (Raymond) Jaroszewski, entered peaceful rest on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 in Yale New Haven Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Derby on September 5, 1956, he was a son of the late Max and Ann (Shuster) Jaroszewski.

Steven grew up in Oxford and attended Seymour High. He later graduated from both UCONN and UCLA, where he earned his master’s degree in engineering. Steven worked for many years at Technology Service Corporation, Trumbull, from which he retired. He absolutely loved the outdoors and was an accomplished athlete; participating in Triathlons, and an Ironman event held in Florida, a feat he considered his biggest accomplishment, finishing at the age of 64. He loved being by the ocean, whether swimming or boating, and also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, dirt bike, and bicycle.

In addition to his beloved wife, Cynthia, of 36 years, Steven is survived by his adored children, Steven Jaroszewski, Jr. of TX, and Rebecca Jaroszewski of FL; cherished grandchildren, Sonali Suacedo, Gierhardt Jaroszewski; step-daughters, Lisa Briggs and Christine Porcu; step-grandchildren, Derrick and Haley Briand, and Adrianna Gottmeier; sister, Diana Clifford and her husband Gary of AZ, and was loved and admired by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Steven was predeceased by his siblings, Max Jaroszewski, III, and Mona Armstrong.

Services celebrating Steven’s life will take place on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 10am DIRECTLY in St. Augustine Cemetery, Seymour. There will be no calling hours. The Ralph E.
