ANSONIA — The City of Ansonia is hosting its annual Main Street trick-or-treat event from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 31.
Parts of Main Street will be closed, while Veterans Park outside city hall will feature an opening ceremony with music, face painting, trick-or-treat bags, snacks, and giveaways. Costumed characters and Mayor Frank Tyszka will hand out candy bars to the kids.
Restaurants and storefronts up and down Main Street will be participating in the event (a list of participants was not available as of Aug. 24).
In the lead-up to the event, My Sister’s Place is collecting costume donations for the kids. If you’d like to donate a costume, bring it to their location at 380 Main St. and say it’s for Halloween on Main Street.
Costume pick-up will begin in October.
