DERBY — The following information on voting in the Nov. 3 election is from the town clerk’s office.
Voting Options For Nov. 3, 2026 State Election
The online absentee ballot application portal is open. Under current Connecticut law, voters do not need an excuse to vote by absentee ballot.

Voters may cast a ballot in one of three ways:
Absentee Ballot: Absentee ballots will be available beginning October 2, 2026, although voters may apply before that date. Applications and ballot issuance are handled by the Town Clerk’s Office. Completed absentee ballots must be returned to the Town Clerk’s Office by 8:00 p.m. on November 3, 2026.
Early Voting: Early voting will be available at Derby City Hall from October 19, 2026, through November 1, 2026.
Election Day Voting: Election Day voting will be held on November 3, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Irving School and Bradley School.
Please Note: Early voting and Election Day voting are administered by bipartisan teams appointed jointly by the Registrars of Voters of both parties. The Town Clerk’s Office issues absentee ballots, while a bipartisan team appointed jointly by the Registrars of Voters of both parties separately processes and counts all completed ballots.
