It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sarah Sosenko Beaulieu, age 69, of Cheshire, CT. She died after a 9 month courageous battle with Glioblastoma at CT Hospice in Branford with her partner, Serge Beaulieu, by her side. She was born on July 31, 1957 a twin daughter of the late Peter and Edith (Koziuk) Sosenko. In addition to her partner, Serge of Venice, FL, she leaves behind her devoted identical twin, Peg Beattie (Wayne) of Orange, CT, her brother Don (Mary) of Ansonia, CT, several cousins, most notably her cousin, Nancy Saja, who was by her side almost daily during her illness offering unwavering support.
Sarah was a graduate of Shelton High School, Class of 1975. She graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and taught 5th grade at Sunnyside School in Shelton. Before long, she discovered her true calling. After earning her MBA in Business Administration from the University of New Haven, she stepped into the world of internal auditing—a field where her sharp instincts, steady work ethic, and strong analytical skills allowed her to thrive. Over the years, she built a deeply respected Senior Internal Auditor career across the banking, healthcare, higher education, and transportation fields, always bringing integrity and passion to everything she touched.
Traveling with Serge was one of Sarah’s greatest joys. She embraced every opportunity to explore the world, finding happiness and fulfillment in Viking Cruises to the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Turkey, Czechoslovakia, England, and Switzerland. She also traveled extensively in the U.S. and Canada. Each place left its mark on her, adding color and richness to a life she lived with curiosity and appreciation.
She also cherished the peaceful hours spent on the golf course with her friends where companionship and the simple rhythm of the game brought her comfort and delight.
Over the last several years, Sarah was a member of the Unitarian Society of New Haven in Hamden, CT and enjoyed the inclusiveness and outreach programs.
But above all, Sarah’s life was defined by her love for her family. Her strong family values were her anchor, and she lived them every day. She was the person who showed up—without hesitation, without complaint—whenever someone needed her. Even while facing her own illness, she continued to give of herself with a gentleness and generosity that never wavered. Her selflessness wasn’t something she tried to cultivate; it was simply who she was. She gave love freely, quietly, and wholeheartedly.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral services will take place at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow in Mount St. Peter Cemetery, Derby.
