Peter Vaccaro, 63, of Oxford CT, passed away peacefully on October 27th, 2026, with loved ones by his side.
Peter was born in Derby, CT on May 21,1963 to Candida and Giovanni Vaccaro. He was the beloved husband of Lisa (Fletcher) Vaccaro and father to Kyle Johnson (Ericca). He was a family man and adored spending time in the kitchen cooking with his two granddaughters, Lyla and Emmeline Johnson.
Peter had a special love of Labrador Retrievers and dedicated over a decade to raising and volunteering for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. He enjoyed the outdoors, taking walks with his dogs, beekeeping, gardening, and long rides in his convertible with his wife. He had a special passion for growing fig trees, having dinner at Pepe’s with his family and was a lifelong Yankees fan.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 29 years; his son; his mom, Candy; his sisters, Roseann Fortune (Mark Victor), and Stella Remaly (Timothy); and his many nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his father, Giovanni (John) Vaccaro; and a sister, Mary Jane Vaccaro.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral services will take place from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, November 2, 2026 at 9:00 AM. A Funeral Prayer Service will be held at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Church of the Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Parish, 212 Elizabeth Street, Derby.
Interment will follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery, Derby.
