CT Makers: Kayleigh Mihalko’s ‘Needle Felted Fuzzies’

ANSONIA — Ansonia resident Kayleigh Mihalko learned how to needle felt in a puppet-making class for her theater minor in college. She turned the passion into a side gig when she made a series of foxtatos,” small felted foxes based on the encouraging internet meme.

She has since made more than 300 foxtatos and dozens of other items for her side business, Needle Felted Fuzzies. Mihalko teaches classes, sells her creations at craft shows and shops, and does online video instruction.

My favorite piece, is really the piece I’m working on. I fall in love with what I’m doing at the moment,” Mihalko said.
