Shelton Police Looking For Cigarette Thief

Shelton police are looking for a man who allegedly started a fight with a clerk at Cumberland Farms on River Road Dec. 20.

According to a statement from police, the man walked into the store about 12:20 a.m. and asked for two cartons of cigarettes.

When the clerk retrieved the cigarettes the man grabbed them and a physical altercation occurred between the two people,” according to a statement from police. The suspect was able to overpower the clerk and fled on foot with the cigarettes.”
