Two Shelton men were arrested Friday after police searched their home and allegedly found drugs.
The arrests were the result of a “lengthy narcotics investigation,” according to a prepared statement from Detective Christopher Nugent.
“Shelton Police were notified of a quality of life issue in the neighborhood of Far Horizons Drive,” Nugent said. “Shelton Police conducted an investigation into the residence and obtained a search warrant to search the residence.”
Police and members of the federal Drug Enforcement Administration searched the home — 101 Far Horizons Drive — on Friday.
“During the search of the residence Officers located heroin and packaging material,” Nugent said.
Two men at the home — Robert Murphy Jr., 54, and Michael Merritt, 39, were charged with illegal possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and sale of narcotics.
Both men posted $5,000 bonds and are scheduled to appear at Superior Court in Derby April 6.
