Funeral Directors Name Shelton Resident VP Of Trade Group

Shelton resident Edward J. Sheehy, Jr, CFSP, CPC, CCO, has been elected the 2017 Vice President of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association (CFDA).

Sheehy is a licensed funeral director/embalmer, and is the President and one of the owners of Riverview Funeral Home in Shelton, and Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home in Derby.

Sheehy served as CFDAs Secretary last year and, before that, was a three-term member of the association’s Executive Committee. He is recognized as a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) through the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice. His CPC (Certified Planning Consultant) is from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), making him qualified to help families plan appropriate and customized services, manage funding options and ensure consumer protection for the families he serves. His CCO indicates that he completed the NFDAs Certified Crematory Operator program.
 
Sheehy became a licensed funeral director/embalmer in 1987 after receiving his professional schooling from the Mortuary Science program at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY. In 1984, He joined Riverview Funeral Home, which was established by his uncle, Joseph A. Pagliaro, Sr., in 1968.
 
He lives in Shelton with his wife, Jodi, and their two daughters. He is a member and a past president of the Derby/Shelton Rotary Club, a volunteer Assistant Softball Coach at Shelton High School, and a parishioner and member of the Finance Committee of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church in Shelton, as well as a volunteer for many other civic organizations over the years.
