Mice Cause Man To Drive Off Oxford Road

A 20-year-old Oxford man crashed his vehicle Wednesday after he said mice got loose in his car.

The mice were in the vehicle because he was going to feed them to his pet snake when he got home.

The mice escaped from their container and were loose on the passenger’s side of the 2005 Jeep Liberty, police said.

The driver became distracted, drove the Jeep into a wire guard rail and then hit a traffic sign before stopping on a lawn.

Police said the man was issued a ticket for failure to drive right.

The accident happened at 1:09 p.m. on Oxford Road about 1,000 feet south of Hogsback Road.
