Registration Open For Boys & Girls Club Basketball Leagues

The Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley’s Raymond P. Lavietes Unit in Shelton has opened registration for its Fall Basketball League and its All American Basketball League.

Fall Basketball League

Cost is $60 per player, and the registration deadline is Sept. 18 at 4 p.m.

The league is open to boys and girls. Grades 3 – 4 are instructional drill clinics and include scrimmages; there are no player evaluations.

Player evaluations for girls in grades 5 – 6 are Sept. 25 at 6:15 p.m.; for girls in grades 7 – 9 Sept. 25 at 7:30 p.m. Player evaluations for boys in grades 5 – 6 are Sept. 23 at 6:15 p.m.; for boys in grades 7 – 8 Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m.

If your child misses the player evaluations, he or she will still be placed on a team; please wait for a phone call from your child’s coach. Schedules will be created after the player evaluations.

If any parents want to coach, we need coaches with a positive attitude! If you would like to volunteer, please fill out the coach’s volunteer form on our website, or pick one up at our Clubhouse at One Positive Place in Shelton.

All American Basketball League

The Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley’s Raymond P. Lavietes Unit in Shelton has opened registration for its Fall All American Basketball League.

Cost is $65 per player, and the registration deadline is Sept. 18. Cost after Sept. 18 is $75 per player.

Open to all boys in high school, All American Basketball is a 4‑on‑4 basketball league. You make your own team, find your own coach, and fill out and submit a team roster. 

Players have to register individually online. Each team must have an adult coach, and rosters must be submitted to the Boys & Girls Club by Sept. 18.

Eight players are allowed per team, with a minimum of six players allowed. The league will follow a 10-game schedule and the top two seeds will play the Championship game.
