Shelton Police: Burglary Suspect Could Face More Charges

An Oakville man charged with stealing equipment from a local company is a suspect in other thefts as well, according to Shelton police.

The man, Michael Petro, 45, was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny Sunday (June 4), Detective Richard Bango said in a prepared statement.

The arrest stems from a complaint made to the Shelton Police Department regarding stolen snow blowers and other commercial equipment at the Perkin and Elmer located on Bridgeport Ave.,” Bango said. Surveillance video of the suspect and his pickup truck developed Petro as a suspect in this and other burglaries in surrounding towns. Other arrests are expected in the near future.”

Petro posted $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Superior Court in Derby June 16.

Other arrests are expected in the near future,” Bango said.
