Shelton police charged a 34-year-old man with home invasion Thursday.
According to a statement from Detective Christopher Nugent, a 22-year-old man went to the police station in person at about 5:30 a.m. and said that he had been assaulted overnight.
The man told police he was at a friend’s house in Shelton when her ex-boyfriend, identified as Daniel King, entered the house and “barged into the bedroom while they were sleeping,” according to police.
King allegedly pistol-whipped the man.
In addition to home invasion, police charged King with first-degree burglary, first-degree assault, and risk of injury to a minor (two minors were in the residence, police said). He’s due in court Jan. 4.
