Shelton Police Charge Man With Third-Degree Assault Of A Pregnant Woman

SHELTON — A 20-year-old man from Bridgeport was arrested Thursday (July 15) for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman.

Movado Bromley is charged with third-degree assault on a pregnant woman, first-degree threatening, three counts of risk of injury to a minor, interfering with police, disorderly conduct, first-degree reckless endangerment, carrying a pistol without a permit, and violation of a large capacity magazine.’

He is scheduled to be arraigned in court today (Friday, July 16).

According to a prepared statement sent by Detective Chris Nugent, Shelton police were sent to a residence on Kneen Street at 7 p.m. after receiving a report of a physical dispute.”

Police arrived and saw Bromley actively engaged in a physical dispute with a female at the residence,” according to the statement from police.

Bromley ran away after seeing police and was able to elude capture.

However, police received another call regarding the residence at 8:30 p.m.

… It was reported that Bromley returned to the residence with a firearm,” according to police.

Bromley allegedly made threats to people at the residence. Witnesses said Bromley threw something. Police said they found a firearm in the area witnesses described. He was placed under arrest and a $250,000 bond was set.
