Caryl L. Fritz

Caryl L. Fritz, age 90, a Derby resident for most of her life, peacefully entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday April 10, 2024 in her home. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late Kenneth Fritz for 45 yrs. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 23, 1934, the daughter of the late Otto and Gertrude (Bryson) Lambert and grew up in the Laurelton neighborhood of Queens, NY.

Mrs. Fritz was a dedicated matriarch who spent her life raising her family as well caring for other children who needed love and support. Some still call her their Mom” many years later. She loved to cook and bake for others and could be found in the kitchen at family gatherings. When her children attended college, word would quickly spread throughout the Dorm that Mrs. Fritz” was on her way to visit with many, many dozens of cookies and treats to feed everyone. No one went without a full plate on those frequent visits! She cared deeply for those less fortunate or whom she felt were being taken advantage of and would strongly stand up for their rights and dignity. She loved God and her Catholic faith and was blessed with three children, three Grandchildren and seven Great-Children. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to have known her.

She is survived by her sons Robert Fritz and his wife Patricia, Paul Fritz and his wife Donna, and her daughter Donna Fritz as well as her grandchildren Rachel Gravel and her husband Tim, Allison Fisher and her husband Erik, and Michael Fritz and his wife Mikaela, and her great grandchildren Jordan, Olivia, Camryn, Kylee, Paisley, Harlyn and Sienna. She was predeceased by her brother Paul Lambert.
