Dorothy (Sentowicz) Feraca

Dorothy (Senkowicz) Feraca, age 82, of Shelton, peacefully entered into rest in her home on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. She is the devoted wife of 55 years of James L. Feraca. Dorothy was born in Bridgeport on April 30, 1942, daughter of the late John and Helen (Terlaga) Senkowicz.

She graduated from Harding HS. Dottie became engaged to her Navy sailer in 1966, and she met the ship in Norfolk, VA when he returned from Vietnam to get married in 1968.

She worked for several years for Avco Lycoming until 1972 when she retired to homemaker. She moved to Huntington in Shelton in 1973 and then to White Hills in 1976. While in Shelton Dottie became an altar caretaker at St. Lawrence Church, where she became good buddies with Msgr. Fitzgerald. Her service to the church went on for many years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister, Charlotte Parniawski and her husband Vin, her nephew Kevin Parniawski and his wife Dori, niece Karen Fields and her husband Rob, and her brother-in-law Lou Feraca and his wife Ruth. Their support and prayers provided great comfort. Dottie also appreciated her wonderful neighbors, Mike Spinosa, Allan and Joan Cameron, and most of all Matthew Richard, who was like a son to her.

Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Sunday from 1 to 4 PM. On Monday her funeral procession will leave the parlor at 8:30AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at St. Joseph Church in Shelton. Burial will follow at Huntington Lawn Cemetery.
