Emma Mary David

Emma Mary David, age 80, of Shelton entered into rest on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Griffin Hospital. She died peacefully after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was the devoted wife of Andrew David.

Emma was born in Bridgeport on December 31, 1943 daughter of the late John and Aglore (Lamoureux) Gabor. She was raised in Bridgeport and was a Shelton resident for most of her life. She was the executive waitress at Philips Medical and ITT for many years until her retirement.

Emma was a loving mother and grandmother. Her family and friends will remember her for her kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. She was a wonderful hostess and always loved entertaining family and friends. Emma enjoyed gardening, cooking, animals and going out to dinner. She also loved to travel, especially to Maine, Vermont and Florida. Emma loved playing a variety of sports and was active in the Shelton volleyball and softball programs. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

She was the beloved mother of Joseph (Michele Nangle) Camarra and Michelle (Dan) Savoie and sister-in-law of Daria Osso. Emma was the loving grandmother of Rebecca (Joseph) Brown, Melissa (Jeffrey Ogalin) Davila, Jocelyn Camarra, Rachel (Harry) Schwarz and Devon Savoie and great grandmother of Joey and Matthew Brown and Ayla and Emma Ogalin.

On Thursday, friends may call from 3:00 — 7:00 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Friday, her funeral procession will leave at 10:00 AM for her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Lawrence Church. In honor of Emma, guests are welcome to wear her favorite color purple.
