Gino S. DiMauro, Jr. age 66, of Derby, entered into rest on Friday May 20, 2016 at his home.
He was born in Derby Dec. 29, 1949, the son of the late Gino S. and Antoinette (Conte) DiMauro, Sr.
Gino was employed with the State of Connecticut as a Deputy Chief Judicial Marshal, stationed at the Waterbury court for many years before his retirement.
He was elected Derby mayor in 1992, serving the community until 1994.
He also served Derby as a Board of Alderman and as a member of the Democratic Town Committee.
He was an avid New York Giants and New York Yankees fan, and a member of the AM Club on Hawthorne Avenue in Derby.
Gino enjoyed watching his grandsons playing sports and Sunday dinners with his family.
He is the beloved father of Gino S. DiMauro, III and his wife, Angie, loving grandfather of Dominic and Sontino DiMauro, brother of Donna Pysz and her husband Bob and uncle of Robert Pysz Jr.
He will also be missed by his dog Rosie.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby.
His funeral will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church.
Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
