John “Jack” M. Coddington Sr.

John Jack” M. Coddington Sr., age, 79, entered eternal rest on April 3, 2024, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was the loving husband of fifty-six years to Jean M. Pantaleo Coddington.

Jack was born in Bridgeport on May 3, 1944, son of the late John and Agnes Abbott Coddington. He began his career employed at Warnaco in Bridgeport then went on to work at Peoples Bank in Bridgeport, serving as Vice President of information Technology. Jack retired as a systems analyst from the former Peritus Corporation in Trumbull. Back in the 1960’s, Jack was a drummer in the former band The Avantes. He spent time making wonderful memories with his wife Jean vacationing in the Caribbean, Australia, and Florida. Jack enjoyed playing cards and fishing with his best buddy Jon. His favorite hobby was singing karaoke, especially the best of Willie Nelson songs. Jack’s greatest joy came from spending time with his loving family. He was a fan of UCONN women’s basketball and attended several Final Four games. He will be missed dearly.

In addition to his wife Jean, he leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Jack M. Coddington Jr. (Monica) of Seymour, daughters, Kimberly A. Burton (Lee) of Seymour and Sherry J. McGeehan (Michael) of Beacon Falls, brother, Brian Coddington of Puerto Rico, sisters, Sharon German of Milford, Nancy DeLeo of Milford, Shirley Ferencz of FL and Barbara Gowisnock of CT, grandchildren, Amber Coddington, Lauren Burton, and Ashleigh Coddington all of Seymour, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Ronald Coddington.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 3:30 – 6:30 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Burial will be private.
