Joseph L. Berube Sr.

Joseph L. Berube Sr., age 93, entered eternal rest on April 26, 2024, at the Connecticut Baptist Home in Meriden. He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores M. Ardito Berube, who recently passed on February 23.

Joseph was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on September 4, 1930, son of the late Adolphe and Ovilia Landreville Berube. He was a longtime resident of Ansonia before moving to Oakview Apartments in North Haven ten years ago. Joe was employed by various metal manufacturers including the Farrel Corporation in Ansonia and retired as a grinding operator for State Cutter Grinding in Seymour. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion in Ansonia and North Haven. In his free time, he loved being out on the golf course playing golf and enjoyed playing Bridge. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Joseph L. Berube Jr. (Linda) of Ansonia and Arthur E. Berube (Sheryl) of East Haven, grandson, Joseph L. Berube III (Danielle) and two great-grandchildren, Joseph L. Berube IV and Claire Berube of Oxford, two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Millea (Angelo DiLorenzo) of Derby and Danny Millea (Kate) of Woodland Hills, CA, step-great-grandchildren, Gianna, Remo and Angelo DiLorenzo, James, and Molly Millea along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Roger, Normand and Maurice Berube and sisters, Claire Goodrich, Gloria Haggerty, Pauline Berube and Dorothy Berube. The family would like to thank the staff at Connecticut Baptist Homes for providing him with such loving care.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Wednesday morning, May 1, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At noon, a prayer service in celebration of Joseph’s life will take place with Reverend Jeffrey Gubbiotti officiating.
