Josephine C. (Asciutto) Kennedy, age 98, entered eternal rest on February 8, 2024, at Gardner Heights Health Center in Shelton. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald P. Kennedy.
Josephine was born in Derby on July 16, 1925, daughter of the late Louis and Eugenia “Jennie” Gugliuzza Asciutto. She was a devoted communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia and enjoyed cooking and being with her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving son, Jeremiah F. Kennedy of Ansonia, grandchildren, Eddy Kennedy of NY, and Jeanne Lisewski (Peter) of Naugatuck, great-grandchildren, Zoey Kennedy and Peter Lisewski, great-great-granddaughter, Daisy Kennedy, daughter-in-law, Donna Kennedy of Naugatuck and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Paul L. Kennedy, daughter-in-law, Ilene Kennedy and brothers, Frank Ashton, Charles J. Ashton, and Salvatore Asciutto.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11:00 am, by meeting directly at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia for her Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment of cremains in the columbarium in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery will take place at the convenience of the family.
