Miguel A. Perez, Sr., age 78 of New Haven, beloved husband of Betty (Rivera) Perez, entered peaceful rest on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, on March 28, 1946, he was a son of the late Pablo and Mary (Rodriguez) Perez.
A former longtime resident of Oxford, Miguel was deeply rooted in his community and attended St. Thomas the Apostle Church. He was also a past graduate of Notre Dame of Fairfield. Known as “Mr. Fix It”, Miguel worked at revitalizing homes and contracting, as well as constructing pools. He retired from Market 32 in Oxford and Stop & Shop in Seymour, where he served as a meat cutter. Family was most important to Miguel and he enjoyed taking care of his home and hosting the many Sunday gatherings, especially pig roasting.
In addition to his beloved wife Betty, of 57 years, survivors include his loving children, Miguel A. Perez, Jr. of Waterbury, Pablo L. Perez and his wife Veronica Saurett) of New Haven, and Christine M. DelMedico and her husband Alexio) of Meriden; his sister, Diana Perez of Madison; 5 adored grandchildren, Brandon Perez, Desiree Torres, Derek Torres, Lila Perez and Catalina Perez; 2 adored great grandchildren, Adrianna Perez and Bryson Perez, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Pablo and Annibal Perez, and Milagro Diaz.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 10am DIRECTLY in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Rd., Oxford, CT 06478.
