Patricia Taratura Podgorski

Patricia Taratura Podgorski, age 84 of Seymour, the beloved wife of the late Henry Podgorski, Jr., entered into eternal rest peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Griffin Hospital, Derby, with her dear friends by her side. Pat was born in Derby, on January 3, 1940. She was the beloved daughter of Peter and Sophie Belinsky Tartaura, and was predeceased by her devoted son Richard Joseph Podgorski.

Pat was a devout communicant of St. Augustine Church. She was generous, kind and caring. Pat was employed as a bank teller at the historic Seymour Trust Company for several decades. She was an avid golfer and bowler, playing in many leagues. Pat was a big fan of the UCONN Huskies basketball teams as well as the New York Yankees. She enjoyed travel, near and far, especially her visits to Disney and road trips to Foxwoods.

Pat will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts. She leaves behind a circle of lifelong caring friends who’ve become family, including Jean, David & Nicholas Banning, Catherine Sypniewski, Dorothy Kisson & the extended Kisson family, Elena Miller & family, Lorraine Morelli, and many more.

Special thanks are extended to the entire medical team and staff in the ICU at Griffin Hospital, as well as AccentCare Hospice Nurses, Mary & Lunie, and the gentle care from Nurse Kyle at Griffin Hospital, making her last days comfortable, not only for Pat, but for everyone who visited. The kindness bestowed upon her from every single person she encountered at Griffin Hospital has been a blessing, and just a simple thank you” seems inadequate.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 11:00 am (Directly) at St. Augustine Church-St. Nicholas Parish, 35 Washington Ave., Seymour. Inurnment will follow in the family plot at St. Peter and St. Paul Cemetery, Derby.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Pat’s memory may be made to St. Nicholas Parish, through the funeral home. The Miller-Macari Family Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour, is compassionately caring for the family of friends.
