Paul John “PJ” Mudry

Paul John PJ” Mudry, age 61 of Ansonia, died Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Hartford Hospital with his family by his side. 

Born in Derby on November 16, 1962, he was the beloved son of Paul Mudry of Ansonia and the late Joanne Ginex Mudry. PJ” was a lifelong resident of Ansonia and a 1980 graduate of Ansonia High School, where he served as class vice president. 

He enjoyed a long career in food service working as a chef at local restaurants such as Bow Ties, Charlie & Leons and Tanners. He achieved his goal of self-employment by owning and operating PJ Cooks and 2 Crumbs Catering. 

He was an avid fan of the NY Giants and the UCONN Huskies. PJ’s affable personality and sense of humor endeared him to many friends, making him a popular and frequent poster on social media. 

In addition to his father, he is survived by his stepson, Nicholas Sprague of SC; devoted sisters, Pamela Mudry of Ansonia and Janet Bradley and her husband, Paul, of Beacon Falls; a nephew Jackson Bradley of Beacon Falls; as well as many cousins and friends. 

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM (Panakhida at 6:30 PM) at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Funeral Liturgy, meeting directly at church, will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Avenue, Ansonia.
