Raphaela “Rae” Diaz Marquez

Raphaela Rae” Diaz Marquez, age 61, entered eternal rest on March 17, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. She was the beloved wife of Cesar R. Marquez.

Rae was born in Brooklyn, NY, on January 11, 1963, daughter of the late Carmen Adorno. She was an entrepreneur with many years of experience in accounting. Rae loved her family dearly, was kind and generous, and always opened her heart and home to anyone in need. She was a social butterfly. Some may even say she was the life of the party and enjoyed hosting family gatherings. Rae also enjoyed traveling, going to dinner, and spending time with friends. Her hobbies included watching horror movies, dancing, singing, and shopping. She will lovingly be missed by all.

In addition to her husband Cesar, Rae leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Raymond Marquez (Rebecca) of Iowa, Christian Marquez (Lauren Kolt) of Wallingford and Angel Marquez of Ansonia, daughters, Lana Chung of Bridgeport, Elizabeth Rodriguez of Ansonia, Marisol Thomas (Kenneth) of Missouri and Alenda Marquez (Terrence Nesmith) of Meriden, brothers, Ruffino Gonzalez of NY, Secundino Gonzalez of WA, William Diaz of Bridgeport and Reynaldo A. Diaz of Waterbury, sisters, Rosa Varns of Long Island, NY, Dolores Gonzalez of Puerto Rico, Raquel Diaz Gonzalez of Hartford and Martha Diaz of Inwood, NY, along with several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Thursday, March, 21, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Friday morning, at 10:00 am, a funeral service in celebration of Rae’s life will take place in the funeral home with Reverend Jeffery Gubbiotti officiating.
