Regina Pompano

Regina Pompano, age 71, unexpectedly entered eternal rest on February 4, 2024, at her home.

Regina was born in Derby on October 20, 1952, daughter of the late Frank Franco and Louise Gabriel D’Antuono. She was a homemaker who lovingly cared for her family and friends. Known for her love of cooking whether it be meatballs, macaroni, or fried dough balls. Regina enjoyed traveling, especially to the Caribbean and Puerto Rico. 

She enjoyed camping trips with her daughters and grandchildren and listening to music, mostly Santana and the Beach Boys. Spending time with her grandchildren was something she always looked forward to, especially Anthony. Regina was a fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. You would often hear her long before you saw her. She was a spitfire who held her tongue for no one. One of her famous sayings was that she was F.B.I full blooded Italian!”

Regina leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Antoinette L. Hernandez (Edward) and Johna Pompano both of East Haven, brothers, Dennis Franco of Wallingford and Richard Franco (Lucia) of East Haven, half siblings, Frank Franco Jr. of Oxford and Julianne Marinelli of Shelton, grandchildren, Anthony Hernandez of East Haven, Alexis Purpora (R.J.) of Madison, Autumn Anderson (James) of Madison, Chole DaCosta of Branford, Nicholas DaCosta of Branford, Kevin Gallman Jr. of Florida, Gianna Gigi” Gallman and Jordan Gallman of East Haven, great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Hailey and Carter, son-in-law, Kenneth DaCosta of Branford, sister-in-law, Carol D’Antuono of Florida, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Stacy DaCosta and her brothers, Charles Franco, and Raymond D’Antuono.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 9:00 – 10:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Her funeral will then proceed to Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.
