Richard C. DiDente, age 82, entered eternal rest on April 4, 2024, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was the beloved husband of sixty years to Patricia Clifford DiDente.
Richard was born in Waynesburg, Ohio on January 28, 1942, son of the late Carl and Velma Birchfield DiDente. He grew up in Waynesburg, OH before moving to Ansonia in 1962. Richard was employed as the Director of Engineering and Security at the United Hebrew Geriatric Center in New Rochelle, NY, until his retirement. A proud veteran, he honorably served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army where he was a marksman and in charge of all the dog handlers in the Northeast.
In addition to his wife Patricia, Richard leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Natalie A. DiDente of Middlebury, his son, Richard D. DiDente of Ansonia, and two beloved grandsons, Brian Dunleavy Jr., and Patrick Dunleavy of Middlebury.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Monday, April 8, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Tuesday morning, all are invited to attend his funeral service, at 10:00 am, at the funeral home with Deacon Thomas Clifford officiating.
