Rita Maria (Giannini) Marulli, age 90, of Derby entered into rest on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of 65 years to Giuseppe “Joe” Marulli.
Rita was born on April 3, 1933 in Chieti, Italy, daughter of the late Antonio and Margherita Giannini. She was the Supervisor of Housekeeping at Shelton Lakes prior to her retirement. Rita loved watching Mass on television, knitting, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Rita is the beloved mother of Cesarina Thompson and her husband Kenneth and Antoinette Davis and her late husband Augustus. She is the loving grandmother of Stephanie Fanelli and her husband J.B., Eric Davis and his wife Kiersten, and Christina and Brian Thompson and great grandmother of Isabella Grace Dugan, Beau and James Fanelli. She was predeceased by her brother Vittorio Giannini and her sister Filomena Giannini.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the calling hours at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Derby. Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Garden Mausoleum.
