Robert D. Fritz

Robert D. Fritz, age 67, a lifelong resident of Derby, entered into eternal rest on April 19, 2024, in his home and surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Derby on September 30, 1956, son of the late Stanley E. Tom” and Henrietta (Rachuba) Fritz. 

He worked as a contractor and owned T & R Builders, with his brother, prior to his retirement. Robert had a passion for music, he loved listening to and collecting old vinyl records, and always had the latest and greatest stereo equipment which he loved to show off. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and his signature lasagna, grilled chicken parmesan and Thanksgiving stuffing will surely be missed. Robert also loved pizza, and every Saturday for as long as anyone could remember, would get a pie, making sure to rotate between his favorite places and trying somewhere new. His all-time favorites being Roseland, Zuppardi’s & Zaneli. He always made sure his car was clean and loved going for rides every weekend. He was also a nature lover and always kept the birds and squirrels on his deck fed.

Robert is survived by his two nieces, Tammy Deland and her husband Matthew and Jessica Fritz-Welch and her husband Matt. Also are his great nieces, Emma Deland and Violet Deland, and great nephew Ethan Deland. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas John Fritz.

Friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby. On Friday, his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 75 Derby Ave., Derby. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Peter Cemetery.
