Rose “Rosie” (DiPoalo) Coccomo

Rose Rosie” (DiPoalo) Coccomo, age 90, passed away on April 4, 2024, after a sudden decline in her health.

Rose is survived by her loving partner Bruce Kale (“my Bruce”), her daughter, Cynthia (“my Cindy”), her brother, Samuel (“Sammy”) DiPoalo, many cherished nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members. Rose was predeceased by her father, Samuel, her mother, Josephine, her husband, Emanuel (“Manny”), and her siblings, Josephine (“Josie”), James (“Jimmy”), Anthony (“Tony”), and Philip (“Philly”).

While this obituary could recount Rose’s full life, her world travels with Bruce and her work at Sikorsky Aircraft, that would only describe a fraction of what was Rose. She loved on a level that was indescribable and that love extended to all her family and friends. She would drop everything to help someone. Her last words to Bruce and her daughter were I love you.” Her love for her daughter had no bounds. Even at the very end, she told her daughter not to worry because she would still look over her and help her no matter where she was. To that end, as this obituary was written, there was a small earthquake in CT. We know this is Rose’s way of telling us she is home now and we better stand straight and fly right!

Rose will be so very missed and her family takes solace in knowing that she is now reunited with her family and friends in heaven. Death does not conquer all, love does. Rose’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the caring staff at Yale New Haven Hospital ICU, especially her nurse Joseph, who was so patient and caring. Rose adored him.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 10:30 to 11:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Her funeral will then proceed to Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon. Entombment will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
