Sandra T. (Sampiere) Messina, age 80, entered eternal rest on May 20, 2025, at Griffin Hospital in Derby.
She was the long-time loving companion of James Krentzman.Born in Derby on August 7, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Peter R. Sampiere and Angela Ceremano Sampiere.
Raised in Ansonia, Sandy later moved to Derby where she resided for the remainder of her life.
She was employed as an insurance agent for the former Jack Abbels Associates in Ansonia, for many years, before eventually acquiring the business and becoming owner, until her retirement.
Sandy had a fun-loving personality and always valued family first. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Italy and got a thrill out of trying her luck with frequent trips to the casino.
In addition to her companion Jim, Sandy leaves to cherish her memory, her son, John T. Messina of South Carolina, brothers, Peter S. Sampiere Sr. of Davenport, FL, Salvatore J. Sampiere (Barbara) of Orlando FL and James J. Sampiere of Byron, Georgia, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Per Sandy’s request, her funeral service and burial in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby will be private.
