Vincent A. Pelaccia

It is with profound sadness, that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Vincent A. Pelaccia, who left us far too soon. Vincent, age 40, and a lifelong resident of Shelton entered into eternal rest unexpectedly from a brief illness on March 13, 2024, at Griffin Hospital. Born on May 14, 1983, in Derby, Vincent touched many lives with his generous heart, and kind, compassionate spirit.

He was the only son of Vincent Pelaccia and the late Gloria (Szablowski) Pelaccia. Vincent excelled in his career at Hocon Gas where he worked for many years, and more recently Maine Oxy Welding and Supplies in Stratford. He took pride in serving his customers, and always went above and beyond to meet their needs.

Vincent’s warm heart was apparent in his love for animals, and especially his canine friend, Lucy. He enjoyed fishing, and watching sports, especially the New York Yankees, and the Dallas Cowboys.

Vincent is survived by his sister, Jennifer Saas, her husband Robert, and their sons, Thomas and Mason. Vincent, Uncle Vinny” spent many of his weekends with his nephews, attending their hockey games, and spoiling them every chance he had; he was the cool uncle”.

The sudden loss of Vincent has left us and his friends all reeling with disbelief and sorrow. We take comfort in the memories we share and the love that will forever bind us together. His closest family members include Aunt Chrissy and Uncle Frankie Pelaccia, and his cousins Robert and Michael, Jess and Sean Pennell, and their children, Ethan, Sophia, and Nathan, Michael and Michelle Hemenway, and their daughter Cora, and Uncle Richie and his godmother, Aunt Barbara (Szablowski) Hemenway, Franco and Rebecca Pelaccia and their sons, Franco, Nicholas and Matthew. He is predeceased by his loving Aunt Sharon (Szablowski) Abate.

All are welcome to greet the family on Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. His funeral will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10:00 a.m., and burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
