Join the community Sunday to remember veterans of the armed forces.
An annual memorial service will take place May 24 at Shelton High School, 120 Meadow St.
Doors open about 6:45 p.m., and the ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m. sharp.
During the ceremony the names of veterans from Derby and Shelton who have died in the past year are read aloud.
Members of the armed forces, veterans, their families, and the public are invited to attend.
The ceremony is held annually the night before the Derby-Shelton Memorial Day Parade, and has taken place yearly since the late 1800s.
