No Tax Increase In Shelton, School Officials Say Layoffs Loom

Shelton Aldermen on Thursday passed a $120.7 million budget for 2015 – 2016 that will result in an unchanged tax rate for the third straight year.

And for the third year running, school officials said the dollar amount allocated to the city’s school district falls well short of what they need.

Shelton School Board Schedules Public Information Night April 28

The Shelton Board of Education will be holding a Public Information Night at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28 in the auditorium at Shelton Intermediate School.

The address is 675 Constitution Blvd. North.

In this meeting we will be explaining our budget request, and discuss the likely impact if we need to run the district at less than a maintenance or roll over budget.

The Shelton Board of Education presented its budget request for 2015 – 2016 to members of the Board of Aldermen and Board of Apportionment and Taxation Monday.
