The All-Valley team consists of players from the six football teams in the lower Naugatuck River Valley— Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour, Shelton, and Woodland Regional.
Players were nominated by coaches, peers, and local writers. The votes were then tallied and the selections were named.
Twelve positions were filled on offense (five offensive lineman, two wide receivers, two running backs, one tight end, and one quarterback), twelve selections on defense (four down lineman, four defensive backs, and three linebackers, and three on special teams (punter, kicker, kick/punt returner).
Naugatuck High School was not considered because it was traditionally not a part of the All-Valley teams in the old Evening Sentinel. Oxford and Shelton were added because of the Valley Indy’s coverage area.
