The Oxford 12-year-old All-Stars are going to the Cal Ripkin World Series.

Oxford played in Maine Thursday evening against Burlington, Mass. in the final round of the New England Championship.

Oxford actually lost the game, 8-2.

However, since it was a double elimination tourney — and Oxford’s first loss in the tourney — a second game was played last night.

Oxford emerged victorious, 4-2, according to relatives of players on the team.

The win makes the team the 2010 New England Regional Champions and qualifies them to represent New England in the Cal Ripkin World Series in Wilson County, North Carolina starting Aug. 12.
