On Sunday, May 1 at 2 p.m. at the Brookside Inn Restaurant, George R. Temple is expected to announce his bid for Oxford First Selectman.
Friends and family are expected at the event at the restaurant, 231 Oxford Road (Route 67.) Light refreshments will be served.
Temple, a Republican, is a lawyer practicing in Shelton and former Town Counsel in both Seymour and Oxford who currently serves on the Oxford Library Board.
He is also the former chairman of the Seymour Board of Finance and former member of the Seymour Board of Education and was also a member of the Seymour Board of Police Commissioners.

I hope he’s not planning on continuing his law practice, and being first selectman as a side line. We need a first selectman who makes the town his primary business.
George would be an exceptional candidate and is more than qualified for the job.
