Seymour is home to the Valley’s newest eatery and, judging by the busy crowd there for lunch Wednesday, it’s becoming a popular one at that.
The Valley Burger Shack opened at 3 Pearl St. last Thursday. It’s in the former Seymour Pastries and Cakes store front.
Co-owner Peter Taing said business has been brisk, so far.
“Everybody’s been very nice, very welcoming,” Taing said.
Taing and his brother, Eang Ter, are originally from Bridgeport, where they ran a supermarket with a deli on Coleman Street.
Taing lives in Stratford.
The Valley Burger Shack has classic American fare, including grinders, burgers and hot dogs. It also has a hot food buffet and salad bar.
The Shack has sit-in tables, but does mostly take out.
The restaurant does breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
You can contact the restaurant at 203-463-8951.

This sounds real yummy. I will be checking this place out very soon. In this bad economy, it is good to see a new eatery in the valley. I wish we had a little more info on how the food is prepared.
It would be even nicer if all the valley towns lower their fees, to make it even easier for people to start up a business. We would all benefit from that.
