So here we find the Democrat governor, backed by his democrat controlled legislature trying to figure out how to close a $365 million ($365,000,000) budget deficit for the fiscal year 2012-2013.

The Democrats now contemplate this fiscal disaster even though they passed the largest tax increase in the history of Connecticut. The Democrat controlled state is also looking at (as of today) a $1.6 BILLION ($1,600,000,000) deficit for the fiscal year 2013-2014 that has not even begun yet!!

So who do we blame? The inept and fiscally incompetent governor and legislature? I think not. The blame lies entirely upon each and every resident of Connecticut that voted to retain the status quo of a democratic controlled state legislature.

The opportunity to bring change, or at least begin change, came and went at the beginning of November, and it was blown. So the next time you want to complain about the tax rate or lack of State services, don’t go and point fingers, simply look in the mirror to find who is at fault.

  1. MarkWidomaki: I agree with you completely, but we have a majority of entitlement-seeking voters out there who showed by their national vote this month — “that they will vote for the person who offers and gives them the most freebies.” Which is why we are spending $1.01 trillion dollars annually on U.S. government welfare programs — which is more than the cost of our Social Security program, or the cost of providing a stand-up military force to protect our country.
Gov. Malloy, as a Democratic governor, with a Democratic-led General Assembly, can and is spending the state blind, and with his predominant state entitlement voters — be easily reelected. And Malloy knows it. That’s why he keeps on with deficit spending, with no effort to balance our massive deficit spending — as he knows he doesn’t have to — and still be reelected.
