DERBY – The Valley Council for Health and Human Services and its community partners will release the 2025 Valley Community Index during a free public event on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 8:15 AM to 10:30 AM at RD Scinto Auditorium, 3 Corporate Drive, Shelton, CT.
The Index is a powerful tool used by nonprofits, municipalities, funders, and residents to better understand the needs and strengths of the Lower Naugatuck Valley, which includes Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Naugatuck, Oxford, Seymour, and Shelton.
Produced every three years in collaboration with DataHaven, Griffin Hospital, and the Naugatuck Valley Health District, the 2025 Valley Community Index combines in-depth local data analysis, stakeholder input, and community voices to offer a comprehensive snapshot of the region’s social, economic, and health-related trends.
The July 18 event will feature:
- An overview of the Index findings and methodology
- A panel discussion with local leaders and experts
- Free copies of the 2025 Valley Community Index for attendees
Featured speakers and panelists include:
- Patrick Charmel, Griffin Health Services Inc.
- David Morgan, TEAM, Inc.
- Melissa Lang, Agency on Aging of South Central CT
- Jessica Kristy, Naugatuck Valley Health District
- Joseph DiBacco, Ansonia Public Schools
- Mark Abraham, DataHaven
“This report helps ensure that our planning, funding, and service delivery align with the real and changing needs of Valley residents,” said Nancy Hamson, Executive Director, Valley Council. “It gives our region the insights to act with purpose.”
The 2025 Index will also inform Griffin Hospital’s Community Health Improvement Plan and the Health District’s accreditation process—ensuring local data drives long-term impact.
